ENTERING SILENT WORSHIP

We live in a world of unprecedented stimulus. Muchness and many-ness, hurry, noise and crowds are a norm. We are bombarded with information from the media. We are bombarded with noise, anything from traffic to background music. We live in a world of multi-tasking.

Our faculties are adjusted to cope with, or at least try to cope with all this.

Our senses are primed to deal with a deluge of stimulus of sight and sound.

Being quiet, calm and relaxed is not our norm.

We also need to reset our focus from the concerns of this world that so preoccupy, even overwhelm us at times, to the focus of the norms of the Secret Place.

It takes time to adjust.

We look at nine areas concerned with entering Silent Worship.

  • Secret Place
  • Tuning in
  • Here I am
  • Countenance
  • Becoming poor
  • Righteousness
  • Being still
  • Sheep Pen
  • Taken up
